Debuted: Ani-Me Con 2015
Notes:
Ahh, Asami and Korra. My favorite couple in the cartoon/anime world. I've always been a fan of the Avatar series and when they released The Legend of Korra, I instantly fell in love with all the characters. As the series reached and end, I decided I just had to cosplay Asami and who better to be my Korra than my best friend? I created both the cosplay for myself and my friend. I actually have a blog post on how I made Korra. So for that I'll do a quick recap. I used a sweatpants pattern for Korra's pants but added an extra something--pockets. The skirt around her waist and arm bands were easy to simply free-hand. I used the duct tape method to create the pattern for the top. Luckily she had a pair of boots fitting for the character, all I had to do was add a few finishing touches. I used a jacket pattern that looked pretty fitting for Asami and then added on the front, magenta piece and shoulder pieces. I took a pajama pants pattern and altered it a lot to create the right shape I needed for her pants. After that I just had to make the partial boot covers/leg warmers. These two costumes where probably a couple of my best sewn and I took a lot of my time to make sure they were done right. What was made?
Pants. Jacket. Leg warmers. What was bought? Shoes. Related Links!
